Incoming Player Rating of the 23/24 Season

As the season has come to a wrap we look at the players which were brought in and how they faired in the season. The rating will be given out of 10 and in no particular order. In a season which brought promise, disappointment ensured. Let's see how the new recruitments faired and what impact they had.

Tonny Vilhena - 5 out of 10 Estimate Transfer 3 Million Euro

Once touted as a wonderkid, Vilhena came with a lot of promise as a workhorse in the midfield. He immediately slotted in and would cover the field and press a lot. Unfortunately, the hype did not match the performances, with misfired passes a main factor of frustration. Vilhena notched up 1 goal and 1 assist in 41 games.

Willian Arao - 9 out of 10 Estimate Transfer 2.5 Million Euro

Arao came late in the summer window, was brought in immediately verse Braga and made his physical presence made. He quickly became a fan favorite with his no-nonsense approach. Whilst he was brought in as a defensive midfielder/"6", he played majority of the games as a defender and formed a great partnership with Jedvaj. He notched up 22 games with 3 goals.

Erik Palmer-Brown - 1 out of 10 Estimated Transfer 1.5 Million Euro

Although the scoring is not performance based, this is purely on availability. Palmer-Brown notched up 3 games (2 starting) and was not seen since end of September when he came off injured at half time. In what was initially a 2 week injury, he was out for the season. Here's to hoping we see his return back to the field and see what he offers.

Antonios Bakasetas - 8 out of 10 Estimated Transfer 1 Million Euro

The captain of Greece joined the Greens in the winter window in what was a long rumored saga. Completely catching everyone by surprise, Bakasetas was brought in under Terim's reign and made immediate impact. Linking up well with Foti and Bernard, he was an effective attacker who was overly dependent on and tired out later in the season to cover an injury crisis. In 20 games, Baka scored 7 goals and was credited with 2 assists.

Filip Djuricic - 6.5 out of 10 Free Transfer
Djuri came with plenty of promise as an attacking mid/"10" and he started positive and made a positive impact scoring verse Dnipro in the Champions League Qualifiers. He then notched up an impressive goal in a derby verse AEK and from their he began to find life difficult at PAO. He was often used sparingly off the bench, kept there or injured. Frustrating performances saw him turnover the ball often whether it was passing or dribbling attempts. In 33 games, Djuri scored 4 and assisted 4 times

Filip Mladenovic - 6 out of 10 Free Transfer
Mladenovic was brought in to add an extra dimension to the left hand side being able to play as a left back all the way to a left midfield. He was primarily Juankar's backup and came into the squad when Juankar encountered his injury or as an attacking solution who was able to send threatening long balls/crosses. Mladenovic had some big moments including the decisive penalty verse Marseille in the Velodrome and the last minute header he scored verse Atromitos in the Greek Cup. However, his downfall was poor reading of the game and leaving his man free which saw games like PAOK and Lamia target his side and with success. In 22 games Mladenovic was credited with 1 goal and 4 assists.

Dimitrios Limnios - 4 out of 10 Free Transfer

Limnios was a surprise signing as he returned from significant injury and joined PAO in the winter as Terim's first signing. His major contribution was he scored the vital last minute goal in the 129th minute verse PAOK which sent the match to penalties, in which consequently PAO won that in a thriller. However, coming back from a significant injury, he was fairly anonymous with his game play and lacked sharpness and match fitness. He will no doubt play a more significant role next season. Limnios featured 13 times for 1 goal

Zeca - 3 out of 10 Free Transfer
A signing which seemed more like a thank you for a former captain and fan favorite, Zeca was brought in for leadership and to act as cover. Unfortunately his return to the club was nothing more than that of a farewell tour, rather than inspiration. Zeca was sent off in his debut for a clumsy challenge in a match where the scoreline was comfortable and gave away a penalty for a handball verse AEK in the derby which led to AEK equalising the match. Zeca appeared 12 times for the club with no goals or assists

Samet Akaydin - 3 out of 10 On Loan

Akaydin came in during the winter on loan to reinforce our depleted backline. He brought in a physical presence but that's all the positives that he brought in. He was not a mobile defender and ball player and would often give the ball away or needless fouls. He came in and did not perform well and the fans turned on him. He then had a short stint of playing well including the home win verse AEK where he shut down Levi Garcia, but then conceded a dumb goal in the reverse fixture to kill any chances at the title. His pro-genocide post was the final straw for the club which saw him terminate his loan. Akaydin made 15 appearances with 1 assist.

Vitor Hugo - 4 out of 10 On loan
Another winter loanee defender who was brought in to act as cover during a defensive injury crisis and was another player brought in from the Turkish league and was average at best. Good aerial defender, but was exposed by his lack of pace in his debut verse PAOK. Vitor Hugo made 10 appearances

Tin Jedvaj - 8 out of 10 On Loan
Another player on this list who was touted as a wonderkid from a young age, Jedvaj came in and featured straight away due to Schenkeveld's injury verse Dnipro. Jedvaj showed he was a calm ball playing defender and chemistry showed with Magnusson. His aerial defense became a flaw in his game and we conceded goals in that manner. However, Jedvaj progressed and got better in the season, getting better physically and showing his passion which earnt the love from the fans. Jedvaj became the full time starter and notably scored verse AEK. There is news circulating that PAO have decided to make his signing permanent. Jedvaj played 40 games, with 2 goals and 1 assist.

Bartlomiej Dragowski - 9 out of 10 On Loan

The Polish Viking was brought in upon Brignoli being banished for speaking to rival clubs for a contract. He had a once promising career and starter for Fiorentina in which a big injury halted his career as he tried to revive it with Spezia. Playing in Serie B and flirting with relegation, PAO made his signing and he impressed with his imposing figure. He saved 4 penalties verse PAOK in the Greek Cup penalty shootout and was often reliable in goals without any goals notably his error. There is conversation for PAO to make his signing permanent. Dragowski totaled 16 appearances.

Alexander Jeremejeff - 8.5 out of 10 Estimated Transfer 270k Euro

"Lord Jerry" as we like to call him was in fact bought in 22/23 winter but was loaned out to Levedaikos. In his first full season and given limited opportunities, he took them. Jeremejeff only played 17 games in all competitions for a healthy 8 league goals in the limited minutes he had. When called upon, he had a knack for scoring a goal and scored vital goals verse PAOK in the last header of the game in the first fixture, a brace verse Volos and also scoring in the derby verse Olympiacos. Jeremejeff also notched an impress 1:~40 goal to minute ratio. What he lacked in skill and technical ability, he made up the goals he scored with limited opportunity
