Early Positional Looks for 26/27 Season

Silly season has not arrived yet, but it is being planned on already. We are going to look at very likely the candidates of players that will be departing, whether by loans agreement concludes, contracts expired or players that will be moved on. Who is this Taborda?

The question that is plaguing the minds of all Panathinaikos fans & who deserve the credit for his transformation. Taborda is an interesting case study as a player that was relatively unknown to now a crowd favorite who is proving his critics wrong. Taborda was signed in the summer of 2025 from Boca Juniors where he rarely featured & was loaned out to Platense for two seasons where he was one of their key players for creating & bringing the ball forward from the midfield. When news broke Panathinaikos was linked to Taborda, fans rushed to google & YouTube the player, as this came out of nowhere & wanted to take a glimpse of what could be a diamond in the rough of a player. After the lengthly negotiations, agreement with Boca Juniors was easy, however with Platense became a stumbling block, Taborda became a Green. Ranking our Summer Signings to date

 It's been a while since we did a blog, but we will look at how our signings from the Summer window have fared in the first half of the season rating out of 10 Cyriel Dessers - 5/10 Coming in as our prized striking recruit from Rangers as a replacement for Foti, Dessers has only made 8 appearances in all competitions. Scoring in his first start in the Greek Cup vs Kallithea & consequently scoring in the derby, Dessers sustained an injury which left him out for 2 months. Since coming back he scored against Volos in the league & then got called up to the African Cup of Nations. This has been a frustrating signing as we know his strength & quality but has seen very little field time. At the time of this blog, he has sustained an injury with his home nation requiring an MRI. It is Deja-Vu at Panathinaikos

Weak, cursed, and vulnerable—these are the words I've used to describe our shocking defeat to Vikingur FC. This sense of disappointment has lingered over the past week, resonating deeply with PAO fans who have experienced this all too often.  We start each off-season with optimism, securing promising players after a whirlwind of transfer targets. There's initial promise, but then hiccups occur, nearly derailing our season. We manage a streak of positive results, often with our rivals dropping points, pulling us back into the title race. We are at the halfway point & it's time to look at all the personnel brought in & rate how they have fared so far & grade them.
